"Male and Female God created Adam." So far for the Torah. On Thursday, January 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the synagogue, Enrique Bueno will lead a Kabbalah exploration. We will explore the Zohar and other sources to find out what the Jewish mystical teaching has to say about the subject. No previous knowledge of Kabbalah is required; basic concepts will be explored.

Celebrate the flowing of the sap! OK, so not so much here in Vermont. Still, we will celebrate the bounty of our flora and trees in a Tu B'Shevat seder led by R. Michal Woll on Friday January 29 at 6 p.m. at the synagogue. Following the model of the Kabbalists, we explore the four worlds through fruit, wine, song, and creative midrash. Shabbat table blessings and a vegetarian pot-luck dinner will be followed by a creative, participative Tu B'Shevat seder. Bring a vegetarian dish to share for the meal. Fruit, wine and other seder delicacies will be provided.
