PO Box 1133 Montpelier, VT 05601-1133 802-229-9429 Religious SchoolOur Religious School meets on Sunday mornings, teaching children from kindergarten through B'nai Mitzvah age. The school emphasizes a joyous exploration of the Jewish tradition and community service learning. We cover basic Hebrew language skills, Jewish holidays, ritual, and history, and Jewish views of social justice. Religious School tuition is included in membership dues, provided that the membership dues are at least $450 if one child is enrolled in the school and $900 if two or more children are enrolled. If dues are less than those amounts, then the member must pay the difference between the dues and those amounts as tuition. If a member or member family has income of less than $25,000 please discuss dues with Julia Chafets, Sunday School Director, at principaljulia (at) gmail (dot) com or Stephen Klein, Congregation Treasurer at Skleinvt (at) gmail (dot) com. K'tanim Young Family ProgramMonthly learning for families with young childrenExplore through songs, crafts and stories Connect with other Jewish families Sundays 10:30 a.m. - noon The program is designed to be a fun, educational and hands-on experience in Jewish learning. It is geared toward Jewish families with young children, particularly those children not yet enrolled in Hebrew school. Parents and children together will explore themes of Jewish life and culture, irrespective of their level of observance. The group will be led by Rabbi Tobie Weisman. Snacks and materials will be provided. For families of children age 6 and under enrolled in the K'tanim children's program dues are $125/year for an introductory 2-year synagogue membership.

Adult EducationWe offer a variety of religious and cultural learning opportunities for adults. Past topics have included Torah study; Yiddish literature and theater; modern, biblical, and siddur Hebrew; Chasidic teachings; Israeli folk dancing; service leading;, and challah baking, to name only a few. Members may participate in adult education activities without charge; teaching an adult education class is a rewarding opportunity for community leadership; if you are interested in teaching, please contact the Adult Education Committee.Click here for a listing of current cultural programs.
