Youth Programs
Beth Jacob Hebrew School emphasizes a joyous exploration of Jewish tradition, ritual, and celebration while building a vibrant, supportive community. We engage students in Hebrew language literacy, and exploring Jewish values, views of social justice and tikun olam. The entire curriculum is designed to help children explore their Judaism from their own perspectives. We focus on experiential activities that allow students to try out various rituals, traditions and ideas. We encourage students to ask questions and develop their own ideas about what being Jewish means to them. And always, our goal is for students to enjoy learning so they continue to come back for more!
The Sunday morning program is a community-oriented experience for 2nd through 7th graders, welcoming parents for opening circle and then breaking into leveled Hebrew groups. Three times a year our Hebrew School hosts a Family Kabbalat Shabbat and Potluck dinner. The kids delight in leading songs and presenting projects they have worked on and the community enjoys the sweetness and enthusiasm of the younger generation welcoming Shabbat with joy.
