Beth Jacob Synagogue is proud to offer Jewish programming for all ages including young families, Hebrew school students, and teens.
Hebrew school
Our flagship program is offered in partnership with the Olam Chesed* Education Center of the Jewish Community of Greater Stowe (JCOGS). Serving students in 2nd-6th grades, Olam Chesed Hebrew School emphasizes a joyous exploration of Jewish tradition, ritual, and celebration while building a vibrant, supportive community.
- In person on a weekday afternoon at Beth Jacob Synagogue during the fall and spring.
- Virtually via Zoom on a weekday afternoon; a combined class with the JCOGS students during the winter.
- Weekly Hebrew language learning pods on Zoom.
- Shabbat celebrations shared with the whole Olam Chesed community in either Stowe or Montpelier.

Pre b’nei mitzvah program
Beth Jacob families are welcome to participate in the JCOGS Mitzvah program. This cohort of 7th and 8th graders meets twice a month on Saturday mornings to prepare together for their mitzvah ceremonies. The program includes one-on-one tutoring and participation in a weekly online Hebrew pod. Click here for more information.
Alternatively, we can also recommend local tutors from our community for one-on-one preparation for a mitzvah ceremony. Please reach out to programming@bethjacobvt.org for recommendations.
Teen program
Ateed** is our program for teens through JCOGS. For interested Beth Jacob members, our synagogue covers the Ateed program enrollment fee paid to JCOGS. For more information, contact Beth Liberman, director of education: beth.liberman@jcogs.org.
