Mahjong
Mahjong
From the tenements of New York City to the bungalows of the Catskills and the vast American suburbs, Jewish women have kept alive Mahjong, a game that otherwise fell out of fashion in the 1920s. Join Beth Jacob members for occasional games of Mahjong at the synagogue. The game of Mahjong can best be described as gin rummy with tiles. At Beth Jacob we do not play aggressively or for money, and we are more than happy to teach others to play! All ages are welcome! Check the calendar for dates; contact Bev Shevis for information.
