Community is invited to join Marsha Kameron and Eve Jacobs-Carnahan on a bike/walk at Joe's Pond in West Danville followed by a noon picnic.  Please RSVP below so we know to expect you and can share more details.

When: 10 AM meeting at trailhead, noon picnic. 
Where: Joe’s Pond, West Danville, Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (LVRT) Rt 15 West Danville. Ample, free parking at Joe’s Pond. 
Picnic at noon:  Bring your own lunch and beverage.  Beth Jacob will provide a dessert.  There are picnic tables available, but bring a lawn chair just in case.  For the hearty, you can swim in Joe’s Pond. 
Details about LVRT:  Starting at Joe’s Pond, going east, it is 15 miles to St. Johnsbury--all downhill. The grade is moderate but steady as you return.  In the westerly direction, the new section was just completed in 2022. (Not on map, but trail is very clear.)  Moderate uphill, mostly wooded and about 7 miles. The trail surface is quite good and can be ridden with a road bike. E-bikes are permitted. There is a 1 ½ mile section going west along Joe’s Pond that is a lovely walk and easy bike ride. These are all out and back trails, so you can go as far as you are comfortable. Sorry, no bike rentals in this area. 
Portable bathrooms are available at Joe’s Pond and water at the Danville train station. Marty’s First Stop is easily accessed from the trail going east for snacks and bathrooms. This makes a nice destination of about 6 miles one way  and only one larger hill coming back.
